Books about what mummy and daddy do all day
We make picture books about the jobs parents do. Every book in the My Mummy, My Daddy series follows Lea and her little brother Max, as she works out what one of her parents actually does all day.
The idea came from the question itself. It is a hard one to answer at the school gate, and harder still at bedtime when the honest reply is “I sat in meetings”. So each book takes one job and shows it the way a child would understand it: the tools, the people, and the bit of it that happens at home without anyone noticing.
How the books are written
They are written to be read aloud, and to survive being read aloud repeatedly. Short sentences, twelve full-page illustrations, and a quiet ending rather than a loud one. Nothing frightening happens in any of them — nobody is badly hurt and nobody is in real danger, and more are always being written.
At the back of every book there are two colouring pages and four activity pages. Those colouring pages are also free to download and print, whether or not you buy anything.
How the books are illustrated
The illustrations are created with AI assistance and then reviewed, corrected and assembled by hand, page by page. Costumes are checked across every spread, faces are checked for consistency, and pages that don't match the story get redrawn. We would rather tell you that ourselves than have you work it out.
